About Pastor Frank's Sabbatical

I absolutely love my church and all the work I get to do in it.  I wouldn't trade it for anything, but I need a break.  (If you don't think so, check out my facial hair.  I have long held that facial hair is a sign of mental distress, if not full-fledged mental breakdown.)

Yesterday I announced at SaviorCC that I’m taking a 12 week sabbatical from my role as Lead Pastor.   I was very pleased with the way everyone reacted.  I didn’t sense any fear or panic with regard to how things would go in my absence.  I’m taking that as a sign of maturity on the part of our members.

I really appreciate all of the love and support I’m receiving from everyone.  You can read the detailed letter that I presented yesterday during our Annual Report here.  In contains ALL of the reasons that Erica and I decided to take some time away.

My last day will be Sunday May 23rd.  I'll be back Monday August 16th.

And for the record, this was being planned before John Piper made Sabbaticals cool. ;-)
